Advisory board

Niek Jan van Kesteren has a seat on our Advisory Board. Niek Jan advises the partners in the firm, in particular relating to the social function that a lobbying firm fulfils as a representative of the interests of companies and organisations towards politics.

A lobby firm fulfils a function as a representative of the interests of companies and organisations towards politics.

Niek Jan was the Managing Director of the employers’ association VNO-NCW for seventeen years, and is still associated with this organisation as an advisor. Based on his position with VNO-CNW, Van Kesteren was also a member of the Executive Committee of the SER (Social Economic Council). In addition, he was also a member of the Upper House of Parliament, for the political party CDA (2015-2023).

Various positions

After transferring his position at VNO-NCW, Niek Jan accepted two other positions: Chairman of the Greenport Holland horticulture cluster, and Chairman of the Northern Innovation Board. He will also remain associated with VNO-NCW as an advisor.

Niek Jan van Kesteren has become the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the public affairs and lobbying firm Meines Holla & Partners in The Hague. Until 1 June, Van Kesteren (aged 63) was the Managing Director of VNO-CNW, an employers’ association. He has also been a member of the Upper House of Parliament since one year, for the political party CDA. Based on his position with VNO-CNW, Van Kesteren was also a member of the Executive Committee of the SER (Social Economic Council), and he was Managing Director of SME Netherlands. Van Kesteren was the Managing Director of VNO-NCW for seventeen years.

For Meines Holla & Partners, Van Kesteren will set up an Advisory Board with at least three members to advise the partners in the firm, in particular relating to the social function that a lobbying firm fulfils while representing the interests of companies and organisations in politics. Meines Holla & Partners, established in 1994, has both domestic as well as international corporate clients, in both the not-for-profit sector and public administration.
